The FMB Building Work Guarantee (insurance-backed guarantee, or IBG) can be arranged for 2, 6 or 10 years and starts from the date your project is completed. If a defect is found in the insured works and the original contractor has ceased trading, the policy covers the reasonable cost to rectify the defect, up to the contract price (policy terms apply).
